Princess is an incredible seven year old rescue from death row multiple states away. She is the funniest, goofiest soul I have ever met!
Princess loves to lay on her stomach and slither across the floor, affectionately earning the nickname "little snake". She is such a loving, friendly pup and she loves to play with anyone who will give her the time of day!
Princess is also an incredibly snuggly dog! She loves to lounge around and nap with anyone who will let her! Princess is a sanctuary dog and will be with us for her entire life.
We love you, sweet Princess!
Comet is an INCREDIBLE dog. He was found abandoned in a torn apart shed during a hurricane in Texas at only three weeks old and was, unfortunately, the only dog still alive in the shed when found. His siblings and parents had died in the hurricane.
Comet was bred to be a bait dog for dog fighting, a mix of a pitbull and a greyhound. He was flown from Texas to WA and taken to a shelter where he lived for almost seven months with zero interest due to his intense fear of people and other animals.
When I was reached out to in regards to bringing Comet into the sanctuary, I knew immediately that he was supposed to be part of our forever family on the farm. It was instantly confirmed when I met Comet and he hid in a corner, shaking and cowering. I knew then that he needed our help. He has now been with us for three years and is four years old this spring!
Comet came home with us the same day that we met him. We used only positive reinforcement and clicker training and within a week, Comet was a confident and happy dog!
Comet is now the light of our sanctuary. He is the sweetest, most loving dog and is such a joy to have around!
We love you so much, Comet!
Mable is a rescue from the same place we rescued Blitz from! She is an incredible dog, very playful and beyond loyal.
Immediately after coming to the sanctuary, Mables' wonderful temperament was apparent. We were able to begin bringing her to hospitals to bring comfort to patients, schools to meet children, and more!
Mable is a wonderful puppy. She is kind, forgiving, strong, protective, and so much more. We are thrilled to have Mable as part of our sanctuary family and love nothing more than her love for others!
We love you, Mable!
Millie is the new SDiT (service dog in training) on the farm! She is an incredible 9 week old pup who, thus far, has the perfect temperament and brain to be a service dog. At this age, I won’t put any pressure on her/decide she “has” to be a service dog, we will simply see if she continues to have the right personality ❤️
A bit about service dogs!
•service dogs are specially trained dogs who perform tasks to support a person with a disability/illness!
•service dogs are NOT the same as an emotional support animal. SDs have full rights under the Americans with Disabilities Act. They are family, through and through, but they are also considered medical equipment under the law. They literally SAVE LIVES!
•service dogs take an average of two years to be fully task trained!
•service dogs can be owner or facility trained!
•not all disabilities are visible! Remember this when you see a SD helping their human ❤️
I know I don’t talk a lot about myself here, but for a brief synopsis, I have struggled with my health ever since I was born slightly premature. I spent the first years of my life in and out of the hospital and have quite the list of diagnosis, including but not limited to postural orthostatic tachycardia syndrome, gastroparesis, severe asthma, chronic Lyme disease & bartonella, medical & non medical ptsd, severe anxiety & panic disorder, and major depressive disorder. Some things Millie will be trained to help me with include alerting to rapid heart rate/tachycardia, “blocking” people from approaching my blind spots without warning, elevating my legs in the event of fainting, supporting my head after a faint, retrieving objects (such as a phone to call for help), deep pressure therapy, finding help if I am unconscious, etc!
Service dogs are the most incredible animals, and they are family. They are so much more than “medical equipment” or an alert animal, they are our life line. Our best friends. Our world ❤️
We love you, sweet Millie!
Rocky came to us from a very unique situation. He was beyond loved by his human and is the most amazing, kind, gentle, well behaved dog. He has been so loved his entire life.
However, his owner passed away after a long battle for his health. His amazing best friends/caregivers were looking for placement for Rocky, and through my place of work, we were able to connect to bring Rocky into the sanctuary family!
We already had an adopter looking for a rescue German shepherd who wasn't a puppy, how perfect is that? I reached out to see if they were interested in a meet and greet and it was love at first sight for both pairs. Because of this, our amazing Rocky found his forever home!
We love you so much, Rocky!
Elsie was such an amazing being -- you could not be around her without a large smile on your face and a laugh on your lips. She was a HUGE goofball, but also incredibly sweet. She would greet every person with a wagging little tail and a happy bark!
Elsie taught everyone who met her how to enjoy life and cherish every moment you have with those you love. We were blessed with fourteen incredible years with Elsie and I am so thankful for all the lessons I was able to learn from her while I was growing up.
We love you so much Elsie. So much. Forever and always.
Cooper was the most amazing soul. He came into my family when I was only five years old and was my best friend until the moment he passed 14 years later.
Cooper would run to my bedside every night and would sleep under the blankets with his head on my arm. There was never a doubt in the mind of anyone who met Coop that someone loved them unconditionally -- him!
We miss Cooper every single day. He was truly a soul unlike any other that I have ever met. I have never met such a patient, nonconditionally loving soul and I am so thankful that I got the chance to grow up with Cooper around to teach me to be like him.
We love you, my amazing boy. Forever and always.
