Junior is an incredible cat! He is a true testament to the love of rescued cats. Junior was rescued from severe neglect at just five weeks old and joined our family from a local rescue at 8 weeks! He has been with us for eleven years, long before we started our own sanctuary! Junior came to us considered semi-feral due to his fear. Thankfully, with a lot of TLC, he turned around faster than anyone could have hoped for! Junior is an amazing therapy cat, always the first to show selfless love to anyone in need.We love you, Junior!
Sammy and his sister Bailey were the first ever official cat rescues of Sacred Souls Sanctuary! Sammy came to the sanctuary at only four weeks old, very sick and riddled with infection. Through diagnostics, we were able to learn that both Sammy and Bailey unfortunately suffer from Feline Leukemia. These two are so brave and strong and overcame every obstacle in front of them, including us being told that they would not live past two. With the help of some amazing vets, these amazing cats are helping us end the stigma of Feline Leukemia cats! Now seven years old, Sammy is our sweetest cat! You cannot be around the Sanctuary without having Sammy as your shadow. Wherever we go, Sam is right with us and purring up a storm! We love you, Sammy!
Bailey is a beautiful seven year old cat rescued along with her brother Sammy from severe neglect, living in filth under an abandoned house. Bailey was the runt of her litter and was very sick when rescued, needing critical care to survive.
Soon after rescue, Bailey and her brother Sam were diagnosed with Feline Leukemia, There is an intense stigma about this disease, many believing that it is a death sentence. However, with proper care and management, Feline Leukemia cats are able to live long, healthy, and beautiful lives!
Bailey is the sweetest cat I have ever met! She will instantly become the shadow of every person she meets. She is incredibly friendly, social, and loving! No matter the situation, she will be under your feet and loving on you.
We love you, Bailey!
Noah is truly a testament to the incredibly strong, fearless nature of animals. He is such a character, regardless of all he has been through!
Noah came to us from a neglect and abandonment case with a severe, often fatal, and very rare form of lung worms. He also suffered from heart worms and a severe upper respiratory infection. With emergency care, Noah pulled through! Noah was originally a foster cat, but with the bond we built overcoming his ailments, he was quickly adopted into the sanctuary family.
His health issues didn't stop there. Throughout the years, Noah would have bouts of head tilt, where he would be unable to straighten his head. These bouts were always diagnosed as ear infections and treated with steroids, but we grew concerned as they continued to happen. We took Noah to three specialists before finding one willing to do both an MRI and CAT Scan. The results were very concerning: Noah had a severe build up of debris and fluid behind his ear drums.
Despite this, he showed an unwavering will to live. His surgeons agreed: Noah wanted to be here. We quickly scheduled the surgery that would save his life.
Noah underwent the incredibly difficult surgery, and he came through with ZERO complications. His surgeons were so impressed with his demeanor and his will to fight!
We are thankful to share that Noah was saved by this surgery and is 100% himself again for the first time in a long time. We love him so much and are so thankful for every moment we get with him!
We love you, Noah!
Our incredible Lily is truly the one who started it all! She is part of the first litter we ever rescued, the bottle babies who inspired Sacred Souls Sanctuary in 2014.
Lily is a seven year old gorgeous cat, affectionately known as "LuLu" or "MooMoo Cow" by those who love her. When she was just five weeks old, I learned about a litter of kittens living in an abandoned and falling house and quickly jumped into action.
Lily and her siblings, 20 in total, were completely feral and living in the walls. They were suffering from insulation inhalation and severe upper respiratory infections. In order to save the cats, I crawled into the walls through a crawl space and was able to catch both all of the babies and also their mothers!
While there was a lot of scratching and biting involved in the initial rescue, our feral friends quickly turned around and became very friendly! All of the kittens were easily adopted out, except for Lily.
While Lily was just as adoptable as her siblings, she was applied for and then decided against three times. Okay, Lily, we hear you loud and clear! You are meant to be with us.
We love you so much, LuLu!
Aurora came to us as a six week old kitten who had been living with her litter mates in a very small cat carrier on a front porch in the middle of Winter. The kittens were exposed to snow, wind, and rain nonstop.
We quickly brought the litter home and nursed them back to health, including rehabilitating their minds! From feral to friendly, our babies were soon ready for adoption!
Aurora quickly made it clear while doing meet and greets that she was not comfortable moving again. She had experienced an endless amount of pain and change in her very short life and finally felt at home.
We instantly decided to bring Aurora in to the sanctuary family, and she settled right in! She bonded closely with her littermate, Wazowski, and both cats were adopted into the sanctuary.
We love you so much, Aurora!
Wazowski came to our sanctuary in the same litter as Aurora, from the same neglect and hoarding case. Within the first day, Wazowski would only sleep curled up on my shoulder with his paw in my hair.
It was quickly decided, before the babies even came up on adoption age, that Waz needed to be a therapy animal. He is so incredibly kind and gentle, truly a once in a lifetime soul.
Because of this, we adopted Wazowski into the sanctuary and he has become our spokescat! Waz visits our local hospice house, nursing homes, and more in order to bring joy and comfort to those who need it!
He is truly a special soul and has a beyond comforting presence. The peace he brings others, including us around the farm, is something I have never experienced before!
We love you so much, Wazowski!
Dazzle is a beautiful cat who deserves nothing but the best! She came to the sanctuary heavily pregnant -- our first mama cat!
Dazzle was trapped after TWO YEARS of attempting to catch her. She was completely feral and was only able to be caught in the end due to her extreme hunger caused by having EIGHT babies asking for food constantly!
This sweet momma bonded closely with those of us who took care of her during her pregnancy and nursing experience, but has still remained semi-feral. She clearly decided that this is her home, and we will never take that from her!
We love you so much, Dazzle!
Don't let her intense stare fool you: Bee is the most chill, calm soul I have ever met! She is truly such a calming presence to have around. Nothing phases this brave girl!
Bee came to us from a hoarding and neglect case on the other side of the state. Despite this, she is such a sweet and loving girl! She chooses to be with us twenty-four seven, always right under our feet!
She is a wonderful companion to both our other animals and any person who comes to the farm looking for healing. She is a healer at heart!
We love you so much, sweet Bee!
Apple came to us completely critical, just hours from death. She was only one day old and had been narrowly missed by the tractor that ran over the nest her feral mom had built in a hogs fuel pile.
We are so thankful that with emergency care, we were able to save her life! Apple remained a bottle baby for seven weeks due to her love for the bottle, and we adopted Apple ourselves!
Apple is a typical calico -- loud and sassy! You can find her any time, any where by just calling her name and listening to the resounding meow. She is a ball of energy!
In addition to her sass, she is also a ball of love! Apple follows anyone and everyone around at all times, meowing gently and begging for love. She is unlike any cat I have ever met with her wonderful sugar & spice!
We love you so much, Apple!
Callie was my first ever rescue -- I insisted on adopting her when I was only five years old. I was blessed with ten incredible years with my best friend before she passed from cancer, and I could not be more thankful that I had Callie in my life to get me through everything. From little things to the hardest moments of my life, Callie was there to love me unconditionally.
I genuinely owe who I am to Callie. She taught me to love unconditionally, to be brave, to be fierce, and so much more.
Callie never left anyone guessing what she was thinking. She was so strong and independent, but also LOVED to interact and snuggle. She is so much of what I hope to embody and I am so blessed that I got to grow up along side my best friend.
We love you so much, Callie. Forever and always.
